Both wet belts finally booked in to be changed on my 13 plate 1.0 ecoboost. ยฃ1100 at Cedar garage in Worthing for both can and oil belt. They've said to have all the tools including locking and vct tools so sounds to me like a similar business to what others have quoted elsewhere, indie garage becoming experience and able to offer competitive prices.
I have replaced the timing belt of my ford fiesta following strictly instructions from the ford manual. I am now stuck to the fastening of the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt. The manual says to torque in 2 steps: 1 to 32 Nm and then further 180 degrees. My understanding for the second step is that the bolt must be rotated another half turn
It was likely bits from the timing belt or oil pump belt from wear. The belt looked good, the words Ford Motorcraft were still visible on the belt. To remove the sump, I removed the AC compressor and unbolted the top side of the catalytic converter pipe. There were I believe 16 bolts holding the sump, which are retorqued to 8 foot pounds.
