Honda's Africa Twin has the Honda badge of quality and will surely be an awesome bike to enjoy. Out of the two, May I recommend the Africa Twin. The bike is already more capable out of the gate for off-road use should you choose to venture down that path and take an interest in it, and is already fantastic for the street aspects of commuting or Although the 750 Africa Twin evolved from the 1990 RD04 to the 1993 RD07 and 1996 RD07A variants, the 742cc 52-degree V-twin powertrain was unchanged throughout and on the whole has proved solidly reliable, as has the typically Honda-slick five-speed gearbox. This specific Honda Africa Twin has over $4,500 in upgrades including a carbon rally kit, crash bars, Remus exhaust, solo seat, and more. Okay, so there is a caveat here. The 1991 Africa Twin we have here isn't technically the original Africa Twin; there was an earlier, limited-production version with a 650cc V-twin in 1988 built at HRC to replicate the Honda NXR Dakar Rally bikes. Honda finds themselves in an interesting position as they seem to be attempting to position the Africa Twin firmly in the middle of full blown dual sports and bulkier ADV specific bikes. Price will likely be a major factor. We know its going to be reliable and we know there will be support globally, but how much to join the club?
